Andrean High School students head back to school on Aug. 13, Principal Jaycob Knazur said a month after a tornado badly damaged the school.

An F5 tornado struck Oakfield, Wisconsin on July 18, 1996, causing an estimated $50 million in damage. The tornado damaged more than 100 buildings, destroying homes, schools and churches, but resulted in no human fatalities.

Ashley Long was about to make a Target run alongside her mother. But then she saw the tornado forming in the distance and sprinted to safety inside the store.

The National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio office has issued a Tornado Warning north of Elmendorf in Bexar County, moving northeastward towards Lone Oak until 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. Residents are urged to seek shelter immediately.
